Þingvellir (or Thingvellir) is the location of the world's first parliament, which was founded in the year 930. Today it's Iceland's most famous national park, and part of the Golden Circle, the Iceland tour for beginners. The park is right on the main fault line between the European and American continent.
A winter view of the church in Thingvellir turns almost automatically into a Christmas card.
I'm a photographer, designer and visual artist based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. The Lowlands by the Northsea inspire me tremendously.The grandness of their landscapes, the intimacy of their towns. The canals and rivers, the harbours and boats, the windmills, churches and houses. The ever changing skies over polders and floodplains. For centuries, these lands have inspired painters like Van Ruisdael, Vermeer, Mesdag and Maris. I spend many a day exploring the Netherlands by foot or bike, capturing the beauty of the urban and rural scenery with my camera.
