Description
Last Friday, my wife and I went on a short drive to the Cienega Preserve area. Cienega Creek is a water shed from the Santa Rita, Cienega, Whetstone and Rincon Mountains. Huge Cottonwood, Arizona Ash, and Arizona Oak trees line the creek bed. I am looking forward to fall colors here. The Union Pacific railroad runs parallel to the creek. In the distance we see the Whetstone mountains. The riparian area quickly gives way to Mesquite, Palo Verde, Creosote, and Saguaros typical of the high Sonoran Desert. It's beautiful wide open country that can provide peaceful solitude from the hustle and bustle of city life. This is just a 12 minute drive from my home in Vail.

Marvin, Thank you. Although our Arizona Fall colors can't compete with other parts of the country we still enjoy any colors we can find!

Jerry, I so love those desert scenes... can't beat Arizona for its beauty. This is gorgeous. Looking for fall colors also.... thinking about heading up to Madera Canyon soon to see if those leaves have changed there. Excellent work l/f
Jerry Bokowski replied:
Lucinda, Thank you very much. I heard that fall is already turning to winter as snow is forecast in Belgium tonight!
