Circular Thoughts are known in math and logic as circular arguments. This piece uses that idea as a metaphor for the obvious design. But, the state of being that circular arguments produces is also reprented quite well by the round being in the drawing, I believe.
If you were to go to my web site http://davemartsolf.com you will be able to order the actual piece for not much more than you wouldpay for a print, though the original is only about 8" x 10" (normal office paper size). You would find the following comment.
This is one of a series of what I call autonomic drawings (unconsciously driven through the id connected to a hand holding a pen on a piece of paper), a hand-colored watercolor of a pen and ink drawing laser-printed on watercolor paper. It is an open edition with each copy individually hand-colored and signed by the artist. The image here is the first in the series. Subsequent hand-colored copies will use this design as a guide, but subtle differences in color may occur from copy to copy. Since the colors are very subtle, extra care has been taken to insure that the colors seen on-line closely matches the colors of the actual print. The print is shipped shrink-wrapped and matted on foam core with a second piece of foam core placed over the matte to protect the flat image.
