Description
Painting of the Civil War Re Enactments, Here is an example of a soldiers camp including those who followed them to help prepare food, etc.. By seeing re-enactments, students can learn that life for the soldiers was not glamorous. There were not a lot of luxuries and that anything a soldier wanted to bring, he had to carry thus restricting soldiers to the bare essentials.
Many are held in National Parks or Monuments. Civil War Re-enactments take place in over 130 interpreted historical re-enactments yearly. They take place near historic par.ks, monuments, and in National Parks like Gettysburg, Bring the family and experience history in a unique and exciting setting.
Many re-enactment groups put on school events that teach about lives of soldiers and other components of the war. Various military Units across the country travels to schools to do this. They also participate in parades and memorials to honor the soldiers of the Civil War.
Though re-enactments and re-en-actors are not always completely authentic, they do their best to portray the War as accurately as possible. Though this painting may original except for the color it was painted with in the last year. Re-enactors try hard to hide their 21st century gear in order to preserve the look of a soldier.
Majority of re-enactors are not professional historians, they are not even paid re-enactors. Most re-enactors are self-taught, highly educated in their craft, and have a passion that they wish to share with the world. They love history, a love for re-enacting and for educating people of all ages.
