Description
The restored interior of this club or lounge car on a vintage passenger train shows how elegant travel by rail was back in the day. Originally Southern Pacific 2986, this lounge car was built by Pullman-Standard in 1949. It was originally assigned to the city of San Francisco. Acquired by Union Pacific in 1996 at the time of a merger, it became UPP2969. It is currently on display at the Durham Museum in the former Union Station in Omaha, Nebraska

Beautiful! Classy way to travel.

Yes, it was. This one's older than I am (not my much, I fear LOL), but I did travel by passenger train from New Mexico to Chicago when I was a child and I remember much of the luxury or that trip.
