Description
Coastal defences during Typhoon Usagi. Fishermen attempting to save a fishing boat from the rising waters of a storm surge produced by Typhoon Usagi as it passed the southern tip of Taiwan. This tropical cyclone formed in the Philippine Sea on 16 September 2013. It reached peak intensity (wind speeds of over 200 kilometres per hour) on 19 September and made landfall in China on 22 September. The damage caused included the sinking of many fishing boats. Photographed in Taiwan on 20 September 2013.
