Description
We have had some chilly (for us) weather in recent weeks and the water must be getting a little cold. The turtles (and alligator) are popping up during the day to try and warm up in the sun.
It is so hard to tell turtles apart, especially when their shells are mucked up. It wouldn't be sporting to flip them over to find out. My best guess is that this is a Peninsula Cooter (Pseudemys peninsularis). It was, when I saw it, a very large turtle, which they usually are.
