Remembering my first morning in Colorado, having left the foot of the Smokies, and how astonished I was leaving Kansas and coming into Colorado, catching my first glimpse of the Continental Divide. I knew from that moment Colorado would forever be my home. A Colorado artist of landscapes, figurative, animals/wildlife, and western art in various media. Dana grew up outdoors, so it is no surprise he finds beauty in Nature, in whatever way it is displayed. He has lived in Appalachian Kentucky and Tennessee, Washington State, California, and eventually in his beloved Colorado, traveled in most other States and the Canadian Rockies, yielding him a tremendous variety of landscape and wildlife to memorialize in his artwork. He became 'family photographer' at a fairly early age, and discovered a bent for painting a little later. It seemed inevitable that he would eventually blend his love of hunting and fishing and camping and hiking and photography and painting....into life-long interests....

Thank you for your comments, Jimmie. Folks seem to forget that Colorado is not ALL mountains, 14,000 foot peaks, and snow covered slopes. I think the Colorado eastern plains have a great deal of beauty and plan to paint more of it. And the colors change so much throughout the seasons it's worthy of documenting on an on-going basis.

Dana, this is so peaceful , the colors are beautiful.
