Drawing - Sepia And Orange Pencil With White Chalk On Toned Paper
This piece was actually inspired by a need to "come home" to myself. Eventually we must recognize that loving ourself is the highest form of love - and the most important. Only through self-love, it is said, can we truly love another.
We can actually be estranged from ourselves, split, not realizing that we are worthy of anything. Bringing all our disparate parts together, uniting them to form a whole, accepting that whole, and then loving it, is the ultimate challenge of spirit and ego. It may not be easy, but coming home to ourselves is a worthy and rewarding goal.
