Mixed Media - Collage On Watercolor Paper
Description
Materials Used: 140lb. Watercolor paper, polymer medium, acrylics, gesso and painted map of Lake Michigan, painted drawing paper, Painted deli sheets, glazing medium and acrylic paints, and graphite pencil, sealed with a layer of UV satin varnished.
Meaning behind the art: Working with the students this past weekend in a workshop on creating narrative abstract landscapes. We did many sketches first in different compositional layouts and I shared with them my own little sketch and how I would use that for my final collage. So the simple horizontal line and what you can do with the sections on either side of them. I also shared about using a ruler to help you have straight line to begin with. Well this piece the paper was cut with an angle so right off bat the horizontal line was crooked. I know this was this way but I did it anyways….So I guess it’s know the rules and break them.
