Description
A recent experiment in exporting a 3D object from the iterated fractal system generator XenoDream, then rendering it in KeyShot with more realistic materials and lighting than can be done easily in XenoDream itself.
XenoDream has nice rendering options too, but it doesn't render real reflections, nor does it handle transparent materials well, and so, for this particular look, there was no way to make it as striking without using an external renderer.
As for the object itself, I found a way to create this flowing pattern of swirly pillars that I thought had the look of some kind of alien or future architecture, then, when I chose a copper material for the reflective dome and the swirly lines around the main structure, the working title – which I simply kept when it was finished rendering – became "Copper City".
