We came across this lake on one of our trips to the Willamette National Forest off of the McKenzie Highway. Cougar Reservoir (also known as Cougar Lake) is a reservoir on the South Fork McKenzie River in Oregon. It is south of the community of Rainbow in the Willamette National Forest. In 1963 the United States Army Corps of Engineers built Cougar Dam on the river primarily to generate hydroelectricity and control flooding, and the reservoir formed behind the dam.

I have been an artist all my life. I love nature photography and realistic artwork. I normally paint with acrylics, but also enjoy using mixed medias, airbrush, pastels, ink and chalk. I have lived in several states and take photographs of waterfalls, beaches, lakes, rivers, forests and mountains.
