Artist's Description
Crab spider (Misumena vatia) paralysing a honey bee (Apis mellifera) on a bird's foot trefoil flower (Lotus corniculatus). The spider is injecting poison through its fangs into the soft cuticle between the carapace and abdomen. It will then suck out the the contents of the prey.
