Artist's Description
This is a view looking North from the Cedar Street Railroad Crossing in Poplar Bluff, MO. A block north of here the railroad tracks will cross Vine Street, then another block north Pine street will go over the tracks. Bridges for the two streets to cross Black River are shown in this photo.
About James Pinkerton
I was born and grew up in the area around Poplar Bluff, MO. I attended college and studied art at Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO. I received a 2-Year Certificate in Technical Design Drafting and later graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Arts with an emphasis on Architectural Design. Upon graduation, I worked for 9 years as a Technical Illustrator and Industrial Artist for McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft and Astronautics (now Boeing) in St. Louis, MO. Later, I moved back to Poplar Bluff where I spent the remainder of my working career in various engineering and management positions. Upon retirement, I decided to pursue my life long interest in art. I have always dabbled in art and photography...
