Karen Cattel is a special artist and her whimsical art looks great on the two sturdy totes I purchased. One is a gift for a friend and the other is for me. I love them.

I noted that the color came out differently on this size of bag, it is distinctly more purple. I happen to love that color also--the larger size has perfect color, exactly like the photo. I love both of my bags.

Artist's Description

The story has it that this ship was built in Lauzon, Quebec, 1914 and was originally used as a St. Lawrence River ferry. It was called Le Progress. She was re-named Le Grande Hermine and used as a restaurant in Montreal. After a few moves and some unpaid dock-age fees, she was towed to her present location where she has been ever since. A fire in 2003 burned off all the wood finishing.
