HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LENORE!!! One of my special childhood memories is of the excitement of crowding into our family's old pickup with my older sister Lenore, brother Thor, and some of their friends. We had to sit on each other's laps as we drove through the snowy night around and about the small Wyoming town of Saratoga. I don't remember why we were out, but I still hear the laughter, the jokes, the bursts of song, and feel my joy in being included in the wit and fun of the "big kids!"
About Dawn Senior-Trask
I have been an artist since I was knee high to a short-horned locust. My dad, Willoughby Senior (FAA) was a professional artist and writer and I have stepped in his shoes since I was born, though he drew horses better than I did when I was a kid. My family lived in a hand-hewn log cabin we built ourselves in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and had no water or electricity. I love my life with my husband and family in Wyoming among the horses, gophers, deer, antelope, coyotes, red-tailed hawks, and the wild landscape. My work is driven by the land, animals, wild plants and birds I have come to know so well. Hummingbirds still try to get nectar from my upturned fingers. My artwork consists of all these things and more...
