Anita Jacques is an award winning fiber artist and a member of the Wilmington Art Association. Her work reflects her connection with magnificent natural beauty discovered both locally and in her travels. At a distance, each piece appears to be a traditional painting, but as the viewer draws near, they enter into an unexpected fiber experience amid a world of texture, stitches and fabric. Art, in some form, whether it be drawing, painting, sewing or crafts has always been a part of Anita's life. At an early age Anita was taught by her mother to hand sew clothes for her dolls.
