The USS Independence (CV/CVA-62) was a Forrestal-class aircraft carrier of the United States Navy. She was the fourth and final member of the Forrestal-class of conventional-powered Supercarriers. She entered service in 1959, with much of her early years spent in the Mediterranean Fleet.

This artwork is relatively new in the art world, a new kind of art. As opposed to conventional painting or photography, digital art allows a person to render any image on to any scenery, thereby creating a whole new class of artists. What it also allows those of us who are historians, is to create photos of military history like they were just taken, instead of some historical grainy black and white photo. While these artistic creations may not be considered 'real' art or genuine photography, it is undeniable that this kind of art is here to stay. I am one of those Digital Artists. I do military art.
