CW my Crazy Woodpecker - Original Photography by Karol Livote
There is a very funny story behind this Red-bellied Woodpecker. A while back, my husband & I were awaken by a tapping on the window. The tapping almost instantly became a banging. One of our windows, the top, is not completely covered with a shade & the uncovered spot is where I noticed this red-bellied woodpecker flapping his wings. I figured he was seeing the reflection of the Autumn trees in the window. I tried to chase him away, but he kept coming back. Later that day, I had all the windows in the house open and this guy was going from screen to screen, chirping away at us.
He finally left, but he was back the next day. I left all the shades down in the house & covered the open area with a towel. That seemed to keep him away. A few days go by and tap, tap, tap, there he is again. This continued on and off for days. The funny thing is this guy has been on our property since we had mov...
Inspired by the world around me, I am sent out to capture moments in time, that I hope can find another's soul, the way it has captured mine! That is Karol Livote's motto! Karol's story is quite simple: When she was about ten years old, her sister gave her the first camera she would ever use. She took right to photography and could be found capturing burned out buildings, old boats and whatever else she could find. In her high school days, she was hardly seen without a camera in her hand. She participated in photography classes and had her own home darkroom. At that time, most of Karol's work consisted of capturing the essence of a person. After high school, life took her in another direction, but she continued her photography on...

Nicely photographed! We have one like that and have learned from others that they are trying to attract a mate. They will search for a surface that will be louder than bark of a tree. Ours likes the rain gutter from about 5:30 AM on.....sigh

Karol, you've got me laughing!!! First of all ... LOVE your picture .. technically fabulous in every way!!! That brilliant crimson against the soft green is riveting!!! But your story really has me going. I have a couple of cardinals who, though they haven't banged on my windows, call to me every morning to set out seed!! i have given up on the feeders ... the squirrels empty them immediately (yes even the squirrel proof ones) and we even had trouble with raccoons a while back. So every morning and most evenings I lay the seed out in a loooooong line across the railings of our deck. The cardinal calls me to come out and fix breakfast very insistently!!! So, I'm quite sure your CW is doing the same thing!!! Aren't they fun???

Karol, I miss you! This is so cute! I know when you don't feel good, and you don't feel up those feeders, these birds get angry! Ahh "angry birds" no pun was intended..You really captured "that look" "His Look!" I just love this photo, I can't tell you how much it made me laugh! I realize all around the world, Woodpeckers are knocking on windows and telling us " Hey, Hey...what's going on?" I loved the way you composed this! The green in the background, the window, how you only see the right side of the window frame! It's a great shot! Plus "Your" Red Bellied Woodpecker are more "beige" on the tummy! Ok, have I written a too much on the comment section? I like how you wrote " a little novella" on him as well.. Favorited, voted, and I have to go back and give it the google plus! I hope your knee gets better soon!
