My order arrived in less than a week and was well packaged with no damage. The image looks good even blown up to the large 30x20 size. The matting and frame are nice also. My only real complaint is the plastic over the picture itself is very reflective and I can see the overhead lights that are behind me when I look up at the picture. I'm taking one star off for that. It was easy to hang with the included mounting hardware once I figured out where the center of my desk was. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another painting from Fine Art America. As a matter of fact I have another I may pick up one of these days to accompany this one.

Super quality and love it!

I was struck by this image the moment my "New Yorker" arrived: the simplicity of color, the form creating a face that was inherently simple in its composition but conveyed a gentle, meditative, and content expression of a street reader who, surrounded by bustle and snow and predictively noisy city life went on reading happily. The minimal color and composition of the facial expression immediately made me grateful for an artist who could capture serenity and rapt attention in one of my favorite pastimes. It now lives on my living room wall. I smile whenever I walk by it. The print from"The New Yorker" cover is "A New Leaf" by Anna Parini.

About Gwen Nichols

I've always been excited about the creative process. During my life I've experimented with many art forms. My first love was designing and making quilts and wall hangings. Later I attended The Leighton Studio in San Francisco, Ca. where I studied oil painting and sculpture. I also studied portraiture with Peter Blos in Walnut Creek, Ca. When I moved to Seattle in 1988 I began painting primarily in watercolor. I enjoy adding other elements such as inks, wax, graphite and hand-made collage papers. I've studied with Sandra Kahler, Joan Archer and William Hewson. I am a member of the Northwest Watercolor Society. My work is in private collections here and abroad.
