Dale Earnhardt, Sr. was an American NASCAR race car driver best known for his involvement in stock car racing. He is considered one of the best NASCAR drivers of all time. He won seventy-six races throughout his career and earned seven championships which tied him with Richard Petty. His aggressive driving style initiated fear in fellow drivers thus earning him the nickname "The Intimidator". On February 18, 2001, it was at the Daytona International Speedway where Earnhardt lost his life on the final lap of the Daytona 500.
