I nearly cried when I saw the top nothing but charred twisted metal

Beautiful photo! Thankfully I have some photos myself before this treasure was lost in the fire. So tragic that it survived Sandy only to be lost. I was heartbroken.

I LOVED this carousel!

First of all I love the photograph but I was a little disappointed with the clarity of the print onto the duvet cover- was a little blurry. Also fine art america needs to add more ties on the inside of the cover- there is only one at each corner and my blanket tends to bunch up at the ends. Even my blanket has 12 ties to tie to the cover. I feel that fine art america really dropped the ball on that. Their ties for crying out loud- only 4? Other than that I was pretty satisfied overall but would probably not spend this much on a duvet cover ever again especially with fine art america' s flaws. Like I said overall pretty satisfied but expected more in quality for the price.

Beautiful!

Artist's Description

A Super Storm Sandy survivor in late October 2012, this carousel had many overjoyed realization that not all their childhood memories had been swept into the Atlantic. The beautiful carousel built in 1910, was designed by Gustav Dentzel of Philadelphia. He collaborated with Charles I. D. Looff, a master carver who has been credited with developing the Coney Island style of carousel horses that appear to be exerting themselves as they bob up and down. It was later to be destroyed in the subsequent fire that swept the boardwalk in September 2013. The Boardwalk for me will truly never be the same.

About Debra Fedchin

As a self taught photographer from New Jersey from the time I picked up my first Kodak Instamatic camera I have enjoyed capturing moments in time. It truly turned into a life’s passion when I acquired a Minolta SRT-101 at the tender (and volatile) age of 18. My photographic work runs the gamut of photojournalism through Fine Art Photography. My work has been displayed as a Gallery Resident Artist as well as Regional Art Shows. Published Fine Art Photography work has appeared in Travel & Leisure, Pennsylvania Magazine, and my photojournalist work has appeared in several newspapers. Through my photography I strive to capture a moment in time that hopefully will bring to mind a pleasant remembrance long forgotten, or elicit a mood,...
