Thanks Guys! I did this one as a conscious complex lighting challenge to myself - and learned a lot. It became the subject of a 3D lighting tutorial I did (www.Art-Head-Start.com).

Great illumination and composition! BRAVO!

I'm actually not completely satisfied with the print. There are 2 areas I don't like. I can't tell if that is Call's chaps on the right side as you look at the picture & also his hand on the reigns look really strange to me & others who have seen it. It doesn't really look like a hand to me or anyone else that has seen it. I've been satisfied with most of the others I've ordered to decorate my new home but not this one.

What a perfect gift for my daughter's graduation from Fordham University! It is a beautifully rendered image of one of the most gorgeous buildings on her campus - Keating Hall. She was so touched and hung it up immediately. I was so pleased with the quality of the drawing and the frame. Thank you!

This order has been pending for over two months and has not been delivered. Nor has a refund been sent to my credit card. This was a mail and frame order where I sent an item to FineArtAmerica to be framed. After FedEx acknowledged delivery of my item for framing to FineArtAmerica, FineArtAmerica sat on my order for nearly a month. My requests to give me an update on the status of my order were ignored. Eventually it was claimed that my poster had been damaged in transit to FineArtAmerica, but the photos of the alleged damage were weird and disturbing. No offer to refund the damage was immediately sent despite the fact that I shipped the poster under a FineArtAmerica account using packaging provided by FineArtAmerica. Eventually the item was listed as shipped but no tracking number was provided and I have still not received it. I have also not been made whole for the movie poster I sent FineArtAmerica which has not been returned to me in either good or damaged condition. Very very unprofessional service.

Artist's Description

A 2D rendering made from my virtual camera inside my 3D modeled scene. The dawn sun illuminates Marda, as she waits under flood lights for her spacecraft to prepare itself for her dawn sortie. Started this one to challenge myself with a very difficult lighting situation - a mix of sunlight and many artificial light sources, plus multiple shadows. The final version shown here uses 20 light sources, as well as many glowing materials (which do not project any light), such as the red and blue lighting stripes on the background wall. Part of my series wherein I use my imaginary "Colony Sisters" to spur my imagination. I created a tutorial for 3D artists on the lighting methods used here. You can review that at: www.ArtHeadStart.com Thanks for viewing :o) _jim coe
