This image won a prize for me as a finalist in the Sony World Photography Awards in 2008 and was displayed at Cannes, France. It was shot during the worst drought in Australia in 100 years.
As an avid photographer for many years, my tendency is to choose subjects with potential rather than things that look good to begin with and therein lies my challenge. I often look for an odd angle or composition and like most photographers, have become a keen observer.
