What does one do when nature offers up one of its own?
This poor bird broke its neck with a thud against my window. In death this tragic result of not being able to differentiate reflection from reality was sad yet beautiful at the same time. Song birds represent fragility of our natural world. They are often the victims of cats, cars, windows and larger birds. In some countries people actually catch and eat these tiny birds by the dozens in a single sitting.
I saw this death as an opportunity to capture some of the fading beauty. This image available on Fine Art America takes a single black and white capture of the bird, mirrors it, not unlike the mirror effect that lead to its demise.

Que fait-on quand la nature offre l'un des siens?
Ce pauvre oiseau s'est brisé le cou avec un bruit sourd contre ma fenêtre. Dans la mort, ce résultat tragique de ne pas être capable de différencier la réflexion de la réalité était à la fois triste et beau. Les oiseaux chanteurs représentent la fragilité de notre monde naturel. Ils sont souvent les victimes des chats, des voitures, des fenêtres et des grands oiseaux. Dans certains pays, les gens attrapent et mangent ces petits oiseaux par douzaines en une seule séance.
J'ai vu cette mort comme une opportunité de capturer une partie de la beauté qui s'estompe. Cette image disponible sur Fine Art America prend une seule capture en noir et blanc de l'oiseau, qui la reflète, un peu comme l'effet miroir qui a mené à sa disparition.

Was macht man, wenn die Natur ihr eigenes Angebot macht?
Dieser arme Vogel brach sich den Hals mit einem dumpfen Schlag gegen mein Fenster. Im Tode war dieses tragische Ergebnis, nicht in der Lage zu sein, die Reflexion von der Realität zu unterscheiden, gleichzeitig traurig und doch schön. Singvögel repräsentieren die Zerbrechlichkeit unserer natürlichen Welt. Sie sind oft die Opfer von Katzen, Autos, Fenstern und größeren Vögeln. In manchen Ländern fangen und essen die Menschen tatsächlich diese winzigen Vögel zu Dutzenden in einer einzigen Sitzung.
Ich sah diesen Tod als eine Gelegenheit, etwas von der verblassenden Schönheit einzufangen. Dieses Bild, das auf Fine Art America verfügbar ist, nimmt eine einzelne Schwarzweiss-Gefangennahme des Vogels, spiegelt es, nicht ähnlich dem Spiegeleffekt, der zu seinem Untergang führt.

¿Qué hace uno cuando la naturaleza ofrece uno propio?
Este pobre pájaro se rompió el cuello con un golpe contra mi ventana. En la muerte, este trágico resultado de no poder diferenciar la reflexión de la realidad era triste pero hermoso al mismo tiempo. Los pájaros cantores representan la fragilidad de nuestro mundo natural. A menudo son víctimas de gatos, automóviles, ventanas y pájaros más grandes. En algunos países, la gente realmente atrapa y come estos diminutos pájaros por docenas en una sola sesión.
