Hi, This was a Christmas gift for my sister ,who is a member of the John Entwistle fan club.Naturally, she was shocked and delighted with such a novel gift which really spoke to her.It is an excellent photograph and is captured nicely on the pillow. We miss John, and this is a tender reminder of an incredible musician from an incredible band.Thank you.

My new favorite pillow

January 13th, 2019

The art is beautiful; I love the color and the design. It resides on a couch, next to a solid-color deep red burgundy pillow which sets it off. It receives a 5-star rating based on its beauty. However, I cannot rate the delivery method as highly. It came in a large shipping box, loosely packed, with no plastic cover to protect it (as I've seen with the other throw pillows I've received from Fine Art America.) The zipper was partially down, so the inner pillow was poking through. And the inner pillow seemed too big for the artistic cover; it was a very tight fit and lacked the "give" of my other pillows. I'm eager to order another throw pillow very soon, as a gift to be sent directly to a friend. I would hate for it to arrive in a similar condition. If you could check the conditions at your shipping locations, I'd be grateful.

Artist's Description

This is a reproduction of George Wesley Bellows' 1925 classic painting of one of the most dramatic moments of the sport of Boxing. The fight took place before 80,000 fans at the Polo Grounds of New York City on September 14, 1923. The moment captured in the fight occurred towards the end of the first round. By later standards, Firpo would have won the fight with a knockout but Dempsey was helped into the ring and was standing by the time the referee counted nine. Dempsey recovered and knocked Firpo out in the fifty-seven mark of Round Two. Bellows was born in Ohio and moved to New York City at the age of 25. He became associated with the Ashcan School which advocated the painting of contemporary urban life. He won fame in that genre which he retained for the rest of life which ended in 1925. This is an early work which wonderfully displays Bellow's commitment to contemporary American life and recreation.
