Elizabeth: Thank you for commenting on my photograph "Resting Place". I meant to comment on "Descending" a while back, but was distracted and did not get back to it. It is a wonderful photograph of lights and darks, shadows and highlights, and full of lines and shapes to delight the eye and let the imagination play. I see an individual descending stairs, but I also see an individual about to be swallowed up. The light wall is the side of the mouth, the jaggedy shapes are the teeth and the railing would be the tongue. GULP!

well done, nice composition and lines. feeling of solitude with 'eyeflow' . thx.

It is a nice moment to capture. I like your perspective. Thank you for your nice comments on my photographs.

Perfect composition, timing and observation. A really fine photo amongst an innovative and graphically excellent portfolio. Great stuff Elizabeth.

Lots of contrasts, my favorite.

I like the simplicity of your photographs, Elizabeth. 'Less is more' is a tired old cliche but it is still true.

This is a great photograph. Great composition and vision. I'm impressed with your skills Elizabeth.

Wonderful the way the shadow tells the entire story, against the rectangular pattern of the wall!

Beautiful..

This is just spectacular, Elizabeth! I've never seen a shadow so effectively used. Wonderful image. And I'm so glad you liked my NY building picture. Thanks for your compliment on it. -- Joe.

Thank you for your kind comment about my work. I like the shapes formed by the light against a wall with its own shapes.

Thank you for your comment on my tree image. I like all of the pieces you have in your group; especially this one. It's all about visual awarness isn't it? Keep up the good work.

I should have bought this piece BIGGER so she could appear to drive off of the wall but this works and looks great. Love the color the style and the happy feeling as do my guests. My daughter recently returned from Italy where she did ride on Vespas. A fun memory for her when she visits and aspirational for me on a future trip.

Stunning

This is my favorite! I have spent years sailing the Pacific coast and this captures the best of early morning on a beach. The smell of the fog, the salty scent of the ocean and seaweed and the cries of the seabirds are all evoked by the picture. Thanks so much!

One of my favorite places! I am delighted with the quality of the print and the speed with which it was sent. Thanks so much!

About Elizabeth McPhee

Elizabeth McPhee

Photography was my childhood hobby. My interest reawakened when I inherited an old SLR. I rediscovered photography as an art form - using shape and form, texture, patterns and above all, the magic of light. Since then I have sought these elements in cityscapes, architecture, in man-made objects and nature, trying to capture them from a creative perspective. But my driving force is to see and capture the ordinary in a light that transforms it. As Henri Cartier-Bresson said:" It is not the subject matter that counts, it is the light." I find inspiration in the work of the masters and contemporary artists. Photographer's CV Exhibitions Solo exhibition, Barebones Art Space, Bangalow, NSW, Australia,...
