Description
Based on a common American idiom that means common (A Dime a Dozen), this work actually celebrates the uncommon.
The innovators, trend setters, and leaders of society do not always do as they are told, fall in line, and follow the loudest voice in the room. They are those with the willingness and bravery to rebel against the common, question the established, and seek truth regardless of the consequences.
This work celebrates the uncommon among us. Those that cannot be satisfied with being blindly led around without explanation or satisfactory evidence supporting the course being chartered for them. Those that bring innovation that make the impossible not only possible but common.
A closer look at this picture, reveals a rip in the underlying fabric illustrating the derogatory light this phase casts on the common. To say something is a dime a dozen is to say it has little value or cheap. Great value is found in the uncommon, the rare, and the scarce. This work issues a challenge to see past the oddities of the uncommon and delight in their true value.
