The bird came out of the bushes with the fish. The fish didn´t fight back any longer. So I think the bird got it a longer time ago and yes the bird ate it. It took him over 30 minutes to swallow it. Think it must be lunch and dinner for the anhinga.

Amazing capture! That looks like a huge fish (do you know what kind?) trying to make a desperate escape here! So does she really manage to win the battle and gulp that whole thing okay? Does the fish put up a good fight, if eaten does the unlucky prey get swallowed wriggling all the way down as well?!

Thank you very much for featuring my work in the Group Wild Birds Of The World William................................... much appreciated.

Looks nothing like picture. The you can barley tell what the design is, however the towel feels nice but it's not a good look.

This towel was to be given as a gift after seeing the Picasso in the Hermitage. The image is satisfactory; however, the quality of the towel was a big disappointment. I wish I had chosen one of the other options,

The portrait of Soutine by Modigliani was a real find! However, the quality of the towel is so poor that I wish I had ordered some other product. The image itself is good.

November 7th, 2018

I do not understand why the image wasn’t scaled down or moved to the center of the towel. I saw no way to do that on the website and (wrongly) assumed it would be adjusted before printing.

Artist's Description

Copyright: Christiane Schulze The Anhinga (Anhinga anhinga), sometimes called Snakebird, Darter, American Darter, or Water Turkey, is a water bird of the warmer parts of the Americas. The word anhinga comes from the Brazilian Tupi language and means devil bird or snake bird. It is a cormorant-like bird with an average body length of 85 cm (33 in), a wingspan of 117 cm (46 in), and a mass of up to 1.35 kg (3.0 lb). It is a dark-plumaged piscivore with a very long neck, and often swims with only the neck above water. When swimming in this style the name Snakebird is apparent, since only the colored neck appears above water the bird looks like a snake ready to strike. They do not have external nares (nostrils) and breathe solely through their epiglottis. From Wikipedia
