It was a gift for a friend who has worked on these rigs. It’s now in his own company facility. He loves it.

Artist's Description

My re-creation of a children's book illustration by Randolph Caldecott, who was an illustrator and artist from the 19th century. He was a well known children's book illustrator and typically his books cost a shilling a piece. The image is based on the nursery rhyme, Hey Diddle Diddle. It is called "And the Dish Ran Away with the Spoon," and was produced by George Routledge and Sons in 1882.

My version is modified from the original version, you can see the original version here http://francesca-artofmoderndesign.blogspot.ca/2012/03/scandal-behind-hey-diddle-diddle.html which includes the scandalous story behind the nursery rhyme. You should check it out.

About Pennie McCracken

Pennie McCracken

Welcome to Endless Skys. I was born and raised in England but I emigrated to Canada over 30 years ago and currently reside in the London, Ontario region. In April 2013, I finally quit the corporate world to focus on my creative side and to learn more about myself through words and pictures. I honestly had no idea if I had a creative bone in my body, but I knew it was time for change. Since then I have simply let my life unfold, going with the flow of wherever my new journey is taking me...one day at a time. I am completely self-taught in all aspects of the art world, from learning to navigate my way around a camera, to the on-going pursuit of developing my skills with all kinds of digital software. I am a professional Digital Artist...
