Lovely card.

The card was beautifully made and my mom was thrilled to see her very own climbing plant on the front. Thanks, fineartamerica.

I cut this out of the New Yorker and had it pasted on my mirror coming in from the garage so that I would see it everyday coming home and think...yes... I was thrilled to find that I could order cards. I have already sent cards from the set to girlfriends who appreciate the sentiment; one has framed hers! I will also add that the cards are made with great, heavy paper stock.

Artist's Description

Poseidon holding a trident and Apollo holding a laurel (once shown in paint on the background of the relief), converse with each other. Beside them sit two sister divinities, Artemis and Aphrodite. The first with one hand adjusts the folds of her chiton which has slid from her shoulder, with the other she clings tenderly to the arm of her sister. The gesture is preserved on fragment. Aphrodite, whose figure was destroyed at the place where the block broke in the bombardment of the Parthenon, points with her left hand to the approaching procession. The winged Eros leans langourously against her knees, holding a skiadion (parasol) and watching the arrival of the procession. These figures have been partially preserved as original fragments in Athens and other Museums as well as in the cast of L.S.Fauvel (1787)
