A narrowboat prepares to moor on the Thames River in Maidenhead, Berkshire. Canal boating in traditional longboat barges is a relaxing way to visit the English countryside. The railway bridge, locally known as the Sounding Arch, was built by Brunel for the Great Western Main Line in 1838. The Maidenhead Bridge, built in 1777, can be seen through the flat arch of the railway bridge. Licence available for editorial use only.
