I just won Business pick with a ribbon and cash at the Florida Strawberry Festival 2013. I have yet to pick it up but I'm very excited for this painting!!

This is the second of the Dogwood series which began with the Abstract Dogwood. I wanted to paint one a little more traditionally but I still want it to be impressionistic too. I was aiming for a transitional painting - one which would fit in pretty much any decor. This watercolor painting is on cold-pressed Arches paper and unframed.

This painting is sold. The sweet lady who bought it had a terrible loss and moved to another state to begin a new life. She said she wanted "something beautiful" to start her new chapter and I'm thrilled she owns this! I hope it proves to be not only a comfort but an inspiration.

Now that I'm living in North Carolina, I can hopefully expand my base to more of the native species of flowers and animals here. I remember a starling that had been shot and I found alive back when I would nurse animals back to health.
