Anand that is just the loveliest compliment - I just don't know how to thank you for leaving such a beautiful comment. I'm just overwhelmed.

What a stunning painting, supported by the luminous poetry of the great John Masefield. This painting is in the grand tradition of Turner and nineteenth century greats. Far above the crowd of entertainjng trinkets we generally see, however skilled, this painting is more than a paintin, it is a form of worship, of spirituality.

Lianne Schneider replied:

Dear Arjun - I know it's been months since you left this exquisite comment and I don't mean this in any untoward way, but it's like a "love letter" in the sense that it expresses what is in my heart about this entire series and it touches me so deeply, more than I could ever say that you can put that into words. Thank you is totally inadequate.

This is a great picture. Shout out to John Boyd on his photography. The print of this however is blurry and I’m disappointed. The original picture is not blurry, so I’m not sure why the print is.

Prints look good. I had mine rolled in a tube and the caps to the tube are stapled with an industrial type staple. Impossible to take out without distroying the tube or cutting the cap off. Please change before product gets damage or injuries result from trying to remove a staple.

The Enterprise sailing ship is a beautiful drawing. It will look fabulous with the other Enterprise renderings.

Artist's Description

Another in my "Sea Stories" collection in the "Down to the Sea in Ships" series. I think of the journey each of us is on...our own personal quest for peace, for truth, for wholeness...the journey of self-discovery - and it takes me to the sea. . . Ships and the sea have always had tremendous symbolic meaning for me. I know I've lived before in the age of the tall ships, of daring exploration. For me there is no better analogy for my life's journey than all the joys and dangers one encounters on a sea voyage aboard a sailing ship bound for unknown worlds. . . ----- Lianne Schneider . . . I MUST GO DOWN TO THE SEAS AGAIN . . . I must go down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking, And a grey mist on the sea's face and a grey dawn breaking. . . I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide Is a wild call and a clea...

About Lianne Schneider

I have a passion for the landscape of Western New York and for the sea that I am unable to express completely in my poetry alone. Now, I have converted both those loves into digital paintings in an impressionist style that express what I see with the heart more than with the eye. I added to that the metaphor of the spiritual journey in my Sea Stories paintings - a visual metaphor for our personal quest for character, courage and truth. Contemporary, yet timeless, my digital paintings are modern realism but with homage to the classic works. In addition to my current art work, I have two self-published volumes of poetry, "Songs of the Heart's Longing" from Blurb publishing and "Ecclesiastes for Sixty: Seasons in Solitude" from Xlibris. Both...
