I returned this particular cover, as I found a Saul Steinberg cover that better served the purpose of creating a Christmas, New Year, and birthday gift for a friend who lived in NY and relocated to San Francisco. The New Yorker has provided a wonderful array of covers over the 60+ years the magazine has been in my home. Edna Eicke's cover was produced prior to my birth in 1947, and it is part of The New Yorkers' great cover legacy.

Absolutely love the print. It is one of my favorite locations. In fact I have a photo I took 7 years ago in that very spot. I received my order quick and in great condition.

Really disappointed in how the artwork arrived. It was rolled too loosely and placed in a flimsy triangular carton that was too large. The artwork was wrinkled and cracked. This was meant as a housewarming gift for a friend. I did what I could to straighten out the paper. My suggestion is to use more expensive and sturdier tubes that UPS and FedEx can't crush as easily.
Artist's Description
This was my second drawing, and was modeled roughly after a town in Western ND called "Beach." The downtown has a spectacular collection of grain elevators in varying stages of decay. I was once offered a tour of an elevator, but turned it down. After drawing and painting them for so long, I realized that NOT knowing what was in those strange and irregular structures was part of what fueled my imagination. So I still haven't been in one, and although I have driven by, examined and painted hundreds, I have no clue what goes on in all those rooms, beyond all those little windows, through all those doors, and up all those stairs.
About Scott Kirby
Visions of the Great Plains consists of drawings and watercolor paintings inspired by the American Great Plains, by Scott Kirby. Referred to as an accidental artist by Sandpoint Magazine, Kirby began painting in 2005, after 9 months of drawing with dual-tip brush pens. Although the attempts to capture these mostly imagined visions are quite intentional, the origins of Kirby's transition from music to art was, in a way, accidental, and unexpected. While drawing with his daughter Sara one afternoon, Kirby was suddenly compelled to continue into the night and following days, being bombarded by mental images which demanded expression. Weeks turned into months, and drawing turned into painting, all scenes rooted in a long relationship with...
