Description
View of buildings along the lower road (Shenandoah Street) coming into the town square in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia, USA. Harpers Ferry was the site of the national armory that was attacked by John Brown and his followers in an ill-fated attempt to arm the slaves and start a revolution to end slavery. His attack fueled tensions that eventually led to the Civil War.
