Artist's Description

Photo of little Downy Woodpecker, traveling up and down the trunk of tree, during a snowfall, looking for bugs and worms in the tree. Featured in the following FAA Groups: *Weekly Fun for All *The World We See *Wisconsin Flowers & Scenery *Images That Excite You *Winter Wonderland *Wildlife One a Day *Beauty *Out of the Ordinary *Fuzzy Warm and Soft The active little Downy Woodpecker is a familiar sight at backyard feeders and in parks and woodlots, where it joins flocks of chickadees and nuthatches, barely outsizing them. An often acrobatic forager, this black-and-white woodpecker is at home on tiny branches or balancing on slender plant galls, sycamore seed balls, and suet feeders. Downies and their larger lookalike, the Hairy Woodpecker, are one of the first identification challenges that beginning bird watchers master. Courtesy of

About Janette Boyd

Hi and welcome to my website! I live in Tulsa, Oklahoma and have sold images of Western art, cityscapes, trains, travel pics, flowers and art deco images. I have been making my own greeting cards for a few years, customizing each card by adding colored borders. The borders bring out the color from the 4x6 photos and then the final is a 5x7 card.. I especially enjoy taking my original photos of birds, flowers and landscapes and merging with textures to form amazing digital images. I hope you enjoy my galleries. **All images are original to, and sole ownership of Janette C. Boyd and may not be reproduced for any reason without written permission from the author.**
