About Tom Brooks
Tom Brooks - Artist Statement: Growing up in Scarborough, I always loved the logic of Science and Math, as well as the creativity of Art. I have studied Mathematics, Engineering, Architecture, and Industrial Design at a university level. My technical studies have inspired my 3D plywood work. Although my work appears to be based on mathematical equations, it is in fact random, rather than logical. Repetition of basic colours, lines and simple shapes, may even suggest a binary language. After formal studies at university, I studied Fine Art in the evenings at the Ottawa School of Art.
