Description
Exquisite detail of the shimmery and coveted dragonfly wing. Dragonflies have been a source of intrique in every continent and civilization. There is an ancient myth that dragonflies once were dragons. A dragonfly can move at speeds up to 45 miles an hour and move up, down and sideways like a helicopter, similar to a hummingbird. In different cultures dragonflies have been associated with seasons, power, prosperity, harmony, luck, happiness, speed, purity and even some negative ideas as well. Dragonflies were particularly popular in Art in the Art Nouveau Period of the 1890's and the Arts & Crafts Movement of 1890 to 1915

Judy, this is so creative. I love the framing of this image. The wings almost look like stained glass. Beautiful!
