While on vacation in South Carolina, I spent the day at Hunting Island State Park. It is a beautiful location in Beaufort County. The park has many beautiful elements to it. One of the areas of interest was a section of the beach with a lot of driftwood. It is known as "The Boneyard of Hunting Island". It is a nearly mile long stretch at the north end of the island not far from the lighthouse. It is home to hundreds of dead ghost trees that have been killed by the saltwater which is constantly moving in from the loss of beach due to erosion. It was quite the interesting sight to see.
