There are three sort of notable waterfalls on the way up to Highlands from Franklin, North Carolina. The first is Cullasaja Falls, right in the corner of a difficult curve and now overgrown so that it is not as visible as it once was. The second is Bridal Veil, a slight waterfall that you used to be able do drive behind/under; the road is now blocked because huge boulders have fallen in the past few years and it could be quite dangerous. It can still be seen from the main road. Then there is Dry Falls, this waterfall is magnificent and it's not dry, it's called dry falls because there is a path that goes behind the waterfall - and you can 'almost' stay dry, certainly not get pounded by the main water flow. There is now also, built in the last few years, a walk extension from the parking lot where you can see the waterfall without having to walk the trail down to it.
