... Captured just after dawn,
the sunrise is gorgeous,
colors of gold, peach,
and bronze lighting up the clouds
after a night of thundershowers.
The dunes along the southern coast
of Georgia are protected by dune fences
to keep the windswept sand
on the beach and beachcombers
from walking on the tender natural grasses
along the coastline.
Palm trees grow near the water
in the salty breezes
as waves crash onto the shore.
The sun's rays warm the coastal beaches,
casting long shadows
onto the trail leading
onto the long wide beach,
the ocean a deep blue
in the early morning lighting.
Captured in southern Georgia
on the island park
of Jekyll Island...
