I think you are doing quite well...it is not easy to paint with water colors...I do not have the patience for it!

Heidi Smith replied:

Thank you, Val. It's didn't take to long to paint, but my arm was a little tired at the end of it. lol

Hi Marsha, Thank you so much for all your encouragement. I have looked at a couple books and also some youtube videos on painting. I'm a little self conscious posting my painting here as I am only a beginner, but I sure appreciate your kindness. Hugs :)

Thank you so much, Sandra!

Hi, Heidi! I like it! Espercially like the upper left leaf and the curlicue vine bits! One thing I was taught in a workshop was to go really dark in the triangles and other geometric-shaped areas between the grapes to help with depth. I think your white bits on the grapes really helps with conveying their roundness. Ok, that's my two cents' worth!.

Heidi Smith replied:

Thank you so much, Carla. I was going to go really dark in the areas between the grapes, but after I tried it in one area (as you can see in the center) it just didn't seem to work well with this peice. I think because the colors are rather light, it made the dark pop too much. I'll give that a try though in another painting where all the rest is darker. I could be totally wrong from an astistic standpoint though. LOL

The variations in color and the light on the grapes are great Heidi,This is very appealing, beautifully done and a v/f from me...

Heidi Smith replied:

Thank you so much, Sharon. That means a lot coming from you, someone whos painting I admire so much.

You certainly did a wonderful job on creating this Heidi.. I love it! f/v!

Heidi Smith replied:

I'm so glad you like it, Gary. Thank you so much for your kind words and f/v. :)
