Karen Whitworth replied:

Thank you, Marian!

Wondering which version you feel shows this fireweed painting best? Acrylic, canvas, print? I'd like to order this for my wall, it's beautiful. :)

Karen Whitworth replied:

Oh I think both those choices would be lovely. The acrylic will be more vibrant, but the canvas will feel more authentic.

This is the most awesome shower curtain EVER! I plan to buy another Icart shower curtain for my master bathroom.

The quality of this shower curtain far exceeded my expectations. A print this size would have been way out of my price range. Love it.

Shower curtain came out just as imagined. I see Nicolas Cage's wonderful mullet every morning while brushing my teeth.

I very much like the pic and the material. Although I dislike the button holes made for the curtain hooks, for the price it should have metal rings stamped for the holes to prevent tearing under the weight of the fabric. even the $6 liner from bed bath has metal rings for the hooks.

So delighted to find the Tardis camouflaged within Hokusai masterpiece. Only Whovians have noticed. Very happy that it actually looks like the picture. Thanks so very much.

Artist's Description

A lazy summer sun dips near the mountainous horizon in Eagle River Valley. With this warm glow the fireweed blooms brilliantly live up to their name as a lone chickadee pauses to take in the view. This scene can be found in the Chugach Mountain Range of Alaska. Here the rugged glacier carved valleys burst with color every summer as wildflowers and animals alike thrive in this short season of growth and life. The landscape is an artist's paradise and serves as infinite inspiration for those who have enjoyed this wild place.

About Karen Whitworth

Check out my blog! Originally from Oregon, artist Karen Whitworth has spent her entire life enjoying nature and its vast sources of artistic inspiration. At a young age her family moved to Alaska where her passion for the outdoors was nurtured and her drive to capture it through paint blossomed. For the next 20 years she painted the rugged landscapes and beautiful animals that resided there. Whether painting a landscape en plein air or a still life in her studio, a common thread of vibrantly illuminated subjects tie her work together beautifully. It is this light that has inspired her recent works and those to come. Her original paintings are exhibited across the U.S. and can be found in...
