I bought this as a gift for a friend who flew on this aircraft and was moved by the tragic crash. The picture is high quality and just as advertised. I am sure he will love it.

I love this picture. The colors are very vibrant. It takes me back to my childhood summers on my Grandma’s farm in Iowa.

fineartamerica is a cut above the others in the way they construct these canvas pieces, ensuring the integrity of the artwork and its presentation, and in the way that they ship the artwork, ensuring its safety. I've ordered a few pieces from them and have always been impressed.

Artist's Description
This painting just won 1st Place in the themed "All Things In Nature" competition with the Leading Artists Gallery out of Washington DC. Site to see all the winners: http://www.leadingartistsgallery.com/Main/2011-exhibition This is the blossoms or flowers from the Easter Lily Cactus otherwise known as Echinopsis Oxygona. The cactus is almost barrel like with lots of spiney thorns and the flowers come from a shoot the comes from the ribs and it grows out away from the cactus and forms a bud. The blossom is so pretty that it's hard to believe such a cactus could make such a beautiful flower. Each petal of the flower is pointed at the tips and almost takes on the appearance of a feather. I just couldn't resist painting this stunning flower.

Thank you Margaret. As you must know, artists are always striving to paint that "perfect" painting. Over a life time of trying to achieve that goal, an artist is lucky to get one or two. I must admit I consider myself lucky in that I have that with this painting. I have been able to achieve 5 or 6 paintings only in the past 8 years to achieve perfection, even though I've been painting for over 40 years.

Carol, they are lovely flowers. Congratulations on your win for this and also for the other one where you left the link for me.
