I love the puzzle as I live in Shingletown. It was very difficult! But the letters that say "Gateway To Lassen" are CUT OFF it only shows part of the quotes. 🤦♀️ So disappointing! ☹ *See attached image.

I’ve given the jigsaw puzzle to two of my friends as gifts and they both treasure them. After doing the puzzle they will frame the completed pieces and hang them on their walls.

Great.
I photographed this Eastern comma (Polygonia comma) in early September in the Fontenelle Forest in Bellevue, Nebraska. Though it's apparently common in the western states, eastern Nebraska is pretty much the eastern most reach of its range, and I'd never seen one before. Had it not been resting with its wings open, I'd not have seen it as the undersides of the wings are a very dull brown and they look much like a dead leaf or the bark of the trees.

Carolyn King
This is a very nice image, but it's not a Gray Comma. A Gray Comma would have only 2 small black dots on the hindwing. The forewing dots and hindwing black markings indicate an Eastern Comma. Carolyn King, Toronto Entomologists' Association.
Nikolyn McDonald replied:
Oh, thank you, Carolyn. I did get help in identifying this butterfly, but my only resource was a volunteer at the nature preserve. I'll correct the title, keywords, and description. Unfortunately, I'm afraid the old link will still be "out there". I do appreciate your help in this matter, Carolyn. If you will send me a private message, I'd love to send you a blank note card with this beautiful creature on it for you to use or give to someone else.
