Thank you Dragi Ante. I'm so glad you like his works of art. This portrait he did of himself is hanging up in our home. It looks just likie he looked at the time. lp

Draga Anna, your father was a really great artist but also a wonderful gentleman. I really always admire this portrait. Lp. Ante

Thank you all for the lovely comments. When I was young I should have watched him paint. I really could have learned a lot from Daddy. He liked to paint other people's portraits but on this occasion hetook time to paint himself by looking in the mirror.

My fathers 101st birthday would have been August 22, 2009. He was born in a small town called Stella, Virginia in 1908. I miss him and my dear mother every minute of my life. He was a great artist, but unappreciated in his time.

Thank you all. He was a good man. He and Mama were married for 66 years plus. God rest their souls. I still can't believe that they are gone.

The genes are amazing! Wonderful portrait by your dad! ! The "Mona Lisa" was terrific, too!

An excellent portrait Anne!

i love It....really, and ty for yours comments....very nice! ciao

Here is my dad, He did this self-portrait. More about my father is written in the description of his rendition of Mona Lisa, here on my FAA site.

Excellent work.Anne I would strongly recommend, that you turn off your camera' bring out the true color in your work.great collection

Thank you dear friends. I miss him so much. I had a dream about him last night. He was smiling and happy and looked young in the dream. A train conductor asking me for my ticket... I wonder what that means.

I see the talent runs in the family. Excellent job!

About Acrylic Prints

Mounting Option #1

Mounting Option #2

Bring your artwork to life with the stylish lines and added depth of an acrylic print.   Your image gets printed directly onto the back of a 1/4" thick sheet of clear acrylic.

The image is the art - it doesn't get any cleaner than that!

All acrylic prints ship within 3 - 4 business days and arrive "ready to hang" with four aluminum mounting posts (Option #1) or hanging wire (Option #2).

The high gloss of the acrylic sheet complements the rich colors of any image to produce stunning results.

There are two different ways to mount your acrylic print.

Option #1 (Mounting Posts) - Attach your print to your wall with four aluminum mounting posts.   The cylindrical cap of each mounting post can be removed, allowing you to thread a small screw along the center axis of the of post and into the wall.   When you're finished, simply reattached each cap, and you're done.   The mounting posts act as stand-offs and keep your print separated from the wall by 1".   All of the required mounting hardware (i.e. posts, screws, and wall anchors) is included with your print.   Click here for mounting details.

Option #2 (Hanging Wire) - With this option, your acrylic print is attached to a 1/4" thick black board which has a wooden frame and hanging wire attached to the back.   There are no metal mounting posts at the corners.   Simply put a nail in your wall, hang your print from the hanging wire, and you're done.   Due to the thickness of the black board and mounting frame, your print is separated from the wall by 1.50"   Click here for mounting details.

I just love my Floral Explosion. It works perfect. It works so well in the bedroom so it matches all the sheets and bedspreads. Now shipping and waiting and waiting for this print. I think it was two months before I got it. The said a sofa size takes a lot longer. Not the 2-3 day. Try 2 to 3 months. I so want three others but I won't give them my money and shipping takes forever

This is my favorite painting and I waited 6 years to finally purchase. I spent extra in order to have oil paint added in order to have a 3D effect and that was not what showed up at my home. It was very unfortunate. I still love the painting but it wasn't what I wanted and haven't had the heart to hang it in my home yet.

Fabulous!! I get to see Red Rocks everyday!

Artist's Description

Pop painted this by looking in the mirror by a window in his small sign shop in Martinsville, VA. He painted many other portraits of others which were also \\\"right on.\\\" This is not from a photograph. This is what he could create by looking in a mirror. He looked exactly like this. A funny thing happened one day. Pop was minding his own business, sitting relatively still for hours, painting his portrait by a window. A lady, Doris, who was next door, got all concerned because he was apparently frozen. She came over to his shop, viewed the scene, and it was a relief for her to know that Pop was O.K.
