At a guess I'd say Eilean Donan is the most photographed castle, not just in Scotland, but in all of the UK. Its easy to see why; the castle sits on a small island, reached by a causeway, amid a glorious landscape of hills and lochs. To take this photo I set up my tripod by the shore and waited as night fell, and lights came on to illuminate the castle. About 2 minutes after I took this photo the lights went out, so I'd say I timed it just about right!
