I love elephant ears, the bigger the better. The ones that used to grow around my grandmother's house were huge. This one is growing in my own back yard, and I went outside one sunny afternoon just after one of those fast and furious but short lived rains that Florida gets. The title of this piece is a bit of a play on words, as the raindrops look like tears, and I wondered, do elephants cry? I know they are deeply emotional and I know they have a gland on their face that oozes a clear liquid, but I am not sure if they cry.
