The Empire Sandy is a Canadian 3-masted topsail schooner. This tall ship was designed as a deep sea tugboat and launched in England in 1943. She served for war service in Royal Navy during the World War II. This sailing vessel was re-named and changed her owners a few times. In 1982, the ship was re-rigged into a topsail schooner and she got back her original name the Empire Sandy. In the photo, the ship is docked near the Naval Park in downtown Buffalo, New York.
